Hey, it's Ben again! As a wedding photographer and videographer based in the beautiful city of San Diego, California, I have had the privilege to visit countless wedding venues. Today, I want to share with you my review of one of the most spectacular venues I have had the pleasure of shooting at - Cuvier Club by Wedgewood Weddings.
Cuvier Club located along the coast of La Jolla, an upscale hilly seaside area of San Diego, known for its stunning beaches and vibrant downtown village. The proximity of the Cuvier Club to beaches like Windandsea Beach or La Jolla cove which are both only a couple miles away is one of its biggest draws. Imagine having your wedding photos with the sun setting over the beautiful La Jolla beaches as a backdrop; it's nothing short of magical. The standout of the Cuvier Club is undoubtedly the Wedding Bowl ceremony, they do also offer a garden courtyard ceremony but being in the location its in you may as well take advantage of it. This unique feature is an outdoor amphitheater-style setting that overlooks the Pacific Ocean and is within walking distance of the venue.
After your ceremony you have your cocktail in the courtyard under the bistro lights surrounded by greenery and flowers. During this time you can also walk to the beach and cuvier park to take wedding party or family photos, and romantics which is only a quarter mile walk and only takes about 5 minutes. During the spring and summer theres also many beautiful flowers that you can use as backdrops as well. The reception is a unique white ballroom featuring high vaulted ceilings with wooden beams and spherical white paper lanterns of various sizes suspended above. The room is bathed in a soft, inviting glow from the string lights that weave through the lanterns.
Like other Wedgewood Weddings venues pricing at Cuvier Club varies throughout the day of the week and time of year. Click here to see their full pricing guide. To summarize; Weddings at Cuvier Club cost between $10,000 on the low end and $25,000 on the high end. The garden courtyard ceremony is $995 and the wedding bowl is $2,995. Venue rentals vary between $1,395 and $2,895 for a Monday-Thursday wedding or $2,295-7,795 for a weekend. Per person packages cost between $95 and $160. Some things to keep in mind are the wedding bowl ceremony is not owned by the venue and you will have to go through the city to get the permit (Which I'm pretty sure they help with) but this means you will have to choose your date furthur in advance if it is something you want. Also the minimum spend, I believe it is $10,000 to $15,000 depedning on the time of year along with a 22% service charge and taxes.
In conclusion, Cuvier Club by Wedgewood Weddings provides a truly exceptional wedding experience. From its stunning location close to La Jolla beaches, to the unique wedding bowl lawn ceremony setting, Cuvier Club is a dream come true for any couple and a delight for a wedding photographer like me. Remember, your wedding day is one of the most amazing, and important, days of your life. It's your story that deserves to be told, and I'm here to help capture those special moments. If you're considering the Cuvier Club as your venue, I can confidently say, it's a wonderful choice.
