Fallbrook Estate by Wedgewood Weddings: San Diego Wedding Venue

June 12th, 2024

Hey, it's Ben again! Today, let's take a virtual tour of one of my favorite wedding venues in California – the magnificent Fallbrook Estate by Wedgewood Weddings. Perfectly nestled in the picturesque hills of North County San Diego and along the Golf Club of California, this venue is a treasure trove for photographers like me, and let's dive into why that is. Fallbrook Estate has a Spanish-style architectural design. The buildings feature white stucco walls and red-tiled roofs, surrounded by well-maintained landscaping with palm trees and other greenery. The estate includes multiple structures, courtyards, and paved walkways, creating a luxurious and spacious atmosphere.

The ceremony setting features an outdoor courtyard with a wooden/stone pergola overlooking the golf club and pond. Along with the rolling hills in the background, surrounded by dense forests creating an idyllic setting showcasing the location's abundant natural beauty. Additionally you can customize your ceremony setting to the ceremony of your dreams!

What truly sets Fallbrook Estate apart is its all-inclusive nature, offering full-service planners. Planning a wedding can be overwhelming, but with Fallbrook Estate, you get a team of dedicated professionals who take care of everything, from their décor team to in house catering, ensuring everything runs smoothly. As a photographer, working in such a well-coordinated environment allows me to focus on capturing the essence of the day rather than worrying about logistical issues.

Meanwhile, the reception is a spacious indoor banquet hall. The hall features high ceilings with an intricate crisscross beam design and several large, circular chandeliers that provide warm lighting. The walls are painted white, giving the room a bright and airy feel, complemented by large windows that overlook the golf course allowing natural light to filter in.

Cocktail hour is held in one of 3 spaces. The first being be on the outside patio once again overlooking the golf course and pond. Inside the bar room which is the same bar as the reception, or lastly out front by the fountain and fireplace outside.

Now Its time to talk about pricing. Pricing varies depending on the time of year and date but I'll spill the tea right away here: You can expect to spend between $6,000-8,000 on this venue during off peak months (December-April) and $9,000-15,000 during peak months (May-November).

With venue rentals for 2024 ranging from $995-5,295 and per person packages ranging from $78-143 and a flat rate for the ceremony of $1,495. It includes decor, food, planning and coordination, 5 hours event time, and two private rooms to get ready in. Keep in mind that they do require minimum spend that varies by month. My data on this may not be exact but I have heard as high as $9,000 in July and as low as $6,000 for a weekday in April.

Now time to talk about one of the most often overlooked parts of choosing a wedding venue; the photo oppurtunities. Luckily Fallbrook Estate is a dream come true for wedding photographers because of its abundance of photo spots. The first time you are there they give you a map of their recomended spots for taking photos, but I'll just list my favorites here.

The Bridge is a fan favorite, just off of the golf course. It's a wooden bridge secluded in the forest surrounded by trees and other greenery. This is spot is best for golden hour photos and I recomend scheduling about hour before sunset due to the earlier sunset time of the mountains.

There are many spots around the golf course but my favorite is the one right off of the putting green behind the ceremony site. Not only is it convenient to get to during a rushed golden hour session, but the lighting is also better as the sun and mountains are behind it! The golf course with the pond and mountains in the background is also great, however if you want to use this spot I recomend blue hour or after the sun dips over the mountains.

Of course there is also many spots around the fountain and walkways covered with greenery.

For wedding party photos and family photos, the ceremony space is great but try to schedule photos here less than 2 hours from sunset for the best lighting. The courtyard area which is best if you need a nice spacious area 3-4 hours from sunset. Or on the golf course are all open spaces and work great for large groups.
