Hey there! I'm Ben, a wedding photographer based in San Diego. Today I want to share all my planning tips and everything you need to know about one of my favorite wedding venues; Galway Downs by Wedgewood Weddings. Galway downs is a rustic and western-style wedding venue that's been popping up all over your Pinterest boards.
Galway Downs nestled in the scenic landscapes of Temecula California, combines its modern rustic style with historic elements of Californias wine country. The ceremony takes place in the midst of nature surrounded by greenery, tall trees, and a flowing river into a pond. The reception features a large barn-style banquet hall that is every bit as charming as it sounds. Walking into the hall, you're greeted with high cathedrial ceilings, warm wooden tones, and an overall rustic charm that immediately conjures up visions of cowboy boots clicking on the dance floor, laughter echoing off the walls, and the soft, golden glow of string lights casting a magical spell on your wedding night.
So I know what you're already thinking. What does it cost to have a wedding at Galway Downs? As surprising as it may sound, this dreamy wedding venue doesn't come with a nightmare price tag. They do offer different rates for different times of the year click here to view their pricing guide. From my experience at this venue, couples usually spend anywhere from $12,000 to $30,000 at Galway Downs in 2024, 2025 or 2026. I believe their minimum spend is somewhere between $8,000-$15,000 depending on the month and day of the week with spring and fall being the most popular months. Their pricing ranges around $4,000-$13,500 for the ceremony and reception rental and per person packages range between $95-$160 (Also subject to 22% service charge and taxes). All with full setup and break down, DJ/Mc services, coordinator, decor and wedding party suites. With also the options of 5 or 6 hours event time, sparklers, an officiant and open bar.
The thing that truly sets Galway Downs apart is the sheer volume of photo opportunities. Beyond the banquet hall, there are picturesque mountain backdrops, the dead tree stumps, and my favorite; pond with a bridge. The getting ready suites are vibrant and spacious with beautiful views of the gardens and mountains. They are far apart so theres no room for error when it comes to taking wedding party photos before a first look or ceremony. Each corner of this venue is a photographer's dream come true. Every nook and cranny offers a unique setting for romantic couple shots, fun group photos, or heartfelt candid moments.
In conclusion, Galway Downs is much more than just a wedding venue. It's a place where your wedding dreams can come to life, where each moment is wrapped in rustic charm, and where your wedding photos can truly tell a story - your story. So, if you're on the lookout for a venue that combines style, affordable options, and a wealth of photo opportunities, Galway Downs should definitely be on your shortlist. Let's create and capture your special moments together at Galway Downs.
